Youth Leading the Fight Against Thalassemia

Organized by Youth Club of Bangladesh – Chattogram Team, the regular YCB program titled “Penia’s Parenting” (Slum Campaign) was held today at the slum area adjacent to Tiger Pass in the port city of Chattogram.

The main objective of this activity was to raise awareness among local communities about thalassemia, a complex and hereditary blood disorder. Special emphasis was placed on identifying carriers and promoting preventive measures.

With the active participation of the dedicated members of YCB Chattogram Team, important information on thalassemia risk factors, carrier detection, timely medical testing, and premarital awareness was conveyed to more than two hundred men, women, and adolescents.
